Look, I understand. Law school is like, hard and stuff. And the weight of the world (and impending exams) must rest heavily on those wee shoulders. Not to mention the 50 lbs of books you carry around.* It must make every step a feat of strength, what with all that new knowledge building up in your little, weary head.
But I am not a 1L. I am a 3L. And as such, you can safely assume that, if I am on campus, I am most definitely, without a doubt, late for something. Thus, I do not want to plod along behind you, listening to your best studying tips. All I want- all I really, really want, in this whole wide world- is for you to MOVE. OUT. OF. MY. WAY.
There is no need, NO NEED, for you to talk while standing in a line. I do not get this. Do you not realize that communication would be easier if you stood in the more appropriate, much more considerate formation of rows? Look, here’s a helpful drawing:
Why do you not get this? I'm looking, and I'm trying to understand. But I do not.
In conclusion, please try to make me want to kick you less. Thanks.
Love,
Cella
* Can I just note I have one textbook this year? This is why I’m a 3L, cuz I’ve been doin’ this for 2 years now and doin’ it well.

I'm a 1L and I totally agree. I mean, I can understand why my classmates congregate (safety in numbers), but why do they have to do it in EVERY walkway AND up the atrium stairs. No idea. Anyway, I'm doing my part b/c I run back to the library after every class. Alone. I. am. lame. I'm glad you're enjoying 3L! :)
Um, what happened to the fifth 1L? Is part of the answer to somehow off the fifth straggler? Interesting.
I think E. McPan is onto something. If the 1L population decreased by 20%, it would really be for the good of all in the law school. If by "all" you understand I mean "the 3L class."
Fifth Beavis may have been a causality of my rage. In addition to being late, I am also lazy and didn't want to cut and paste another Beavis. Also, it would have shrunk all the little Beavises. Heh...Beavises.
Well put. Well put indeed.
Can I just add that I think 1Ls speaking in the Atrium should keep their damn voices down? Unless, of course, they WANT everyone to know how little they really know about the job market (or sound engineering, or computer science, or whatever other nonsense they are babbling about). Sigh. Old and bitter.
I secretly want to punch slow walking people in the back of the head. There is a facebook group for me.
Clearly you've forgotten that walking in lines better prepares you for Country Western line dancing later in life. And auditioning for the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. And Fascist Military Parades in small European countries. Not everyone going to Law School is destined for legal practice, my friend. Some have more challenging fates in store...well, challenging in terms of eye-limb coordination.
Speaking of limb coordination, I was dancing last night in Downtown Helsinki...preparing for the upcoming nuptuals...when I was swept up in the live jazz band's rendition of a Chicago Blues number with a dance floor full of Finns. We all did a mad hopping around at an extremely fast pace with twirls, whirls and spins that the other dancers could only stare at with envy. This, I think, is what cross-cultural integration is all about.
And, preceeding that, my team from North America did you proud when we won for best team presentation...by singing the Major General patter song from Pirates with our own words, natch. There was screeming and clapping from all directions... yells for "encore" in Turkish, Finnish, Chineese and at least another twenty languages! Well, I think they were yelling "Encore". I'm sure they were. So, I launched into "I will follow him" from "Sister Act". And it was such a hit that, for days afterwards, I was greeted with the first line "I will follow him..." in more accents than you can imagine...German, Scottish, Thai! And you haven't heard a tribute to Whoopee Goldberg unless you've heard "I will follow him" sung by drunk Finns at 2 in the morning, while it's snowing! So see, walking 5 abreast is not necessarily a bad thing. It can keep you warm, upright and keep you in time with the music, all the way back to your hotel!
