Tweedle Dee Tweedle Dee

My father is right. I have been back from Ireland for DAYS now and have reported nothing. Day One was spent in the airport back to Chicago, marking my 7th flight in less than a month. I was very tired. And then I got sick.

I noted to myself a long time ago that since going vegan, I have enjoyed very good health. I don’t know what kind of significance that coincidence has, but I admit that I have been a terrible vegan this summer, especially so in Ireland where I enjoyed cheese without nearly as much guilt because every time I looked out my window I saw the cows from which it was coming. And after the cheeseapalooza, I got a cold. I don't know if I should draw conclusions from that or not, but I'll put it out there.

I also had to get my wisdom teeth out. HAD to. They hurt a lot, and my insurance is up at the end of the month. So I held my coughing and general crapiness at the office so they would take out my teefs. It worked and now I am happily floating around on vicodin. My mouth is SOOOOOORE. The doc told me, about a hundred times, that I had a very small mouth. He was worried he couldn’t get in to get the teeth out, but when I started crying because I really didn’t want to live with pain like this, he agreed to take out 3 of the 4. Yay!!

So now I sit swollen and sore, trying to write cover letters for clerkships. Sigh. Any day now I will have some free time to write about the trip. Somewhere between volunteering at 1L Orientation and leading the journal orientation and beating my head against a desk because THE SENIOR RESEARCH PROJECT FROM HELL HAS STRUCK AGAIN. I’ve made a huge mistake.

Anyway, here's a little sumpin sumpin:
This last one, a graveyard near my great-grandfather's hometown, is actually in color, not black and white. We managed to find his little farming village, despite knowing nothing but the town name and the county. It was very cool, even if it was pretty much all of two cottages at this point. We did find many gravestones nearby with family names. That was very cool.

sorry about your teeth. just don't run amok and give yourself those empty socket things that hurt so bad.
